Expected School-wide Learning Results
As we strive to attain our
Vision and Mission and in deference to the School
Philosophy, Saint Bernard High School has defined the
following school-wide learning results for the
graduates of the school. At Saint Bernard, these
learning results are the school AVEs – Achieving
Viking Excellence.
To Achieve Viking
Excellence, the Saint Bernard graduate will be a
Christian Disciple
who

models Christ in their daily life;

develops an understanding of and appreciation for
the Catholic Church and her traditions;

exhibits a sense of Catholic social responsibility
through acts of service.
To Achieve Viking
Excellence, the Saint Bernard graduate will be a
Critical Thinker
who

uses higher level thinking processes to analyze,
problem-solve and draw conclusions based on
supportive evidence;

demonstrates interdisciplinary comprehension and
application;

shows mastery of research skills by effectively
using a variety of appropriate resources including
technology to seek understanding through inquiry.

Effective Communicator

incorporates and presents ideas appropriately,
thoughtfully and creatively;
