Graduation Requirements

With the exception of PE, Health, Fine Arts and Computer Studies, all graduation requirements must be taken at St. Bernard during the regular school year. In order to earn a St. Bernard High School diploma, a student must have attained a minimum of 240 academic credits distributed as follows:

English

Four Years
40 credits
 
Religious Studies
Four Years
40 credits
 
Mathematics
Three Years
30 credits
Must include a minimum of Algebra I (P) and Geometry (P).
Social Studies
Three Years
30 credits
Must include World History (10 credits), United States History (10 credits), United States Government (5 credits) and Economics (5 credits).
Science
Two Years
20 credits
Must include 10 credits Biology and 10 credits Physical Science/Chemistry.
Foreign Language
Two Years
20 credits
Must be in the same language.
*Phys. Ed./Health

One Year

10 credits
*Up to 10 credits of PE can be earned through participation in interscholastic Team Sports.
Computer
Half Year

5 credits
Must be a Computer Applications Course.
Fine Arts
One Year
10 credits
Either in theatre arts, visual art, music or dance.
Electives
35 credits
Students should consider college requirements and Post-Secondary plans when selecting electives.
